DIRECTIVE: Mandatory Porch Inspection Protocol

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Whereas the integrity of this household’s territorial boundaries has come under repeated scrutiny, and whereas recent incidents have demonstrated the insufficiency of ad-hoc inspection procedures, this office hereby establishes the Mandatory Porch Inspection Protocol effective immediately upon filing.

All porch areas, including but not limited to the front stoop, steps, driveway perimeter, and all associated vegetation, shall be subject to daily inspection by the Chairman between the hours of 0700 and 0745. This protocol is non-negotiable, mandatory, and binding upon all household personnel.

BACKGROUND & JUSTIFICATION

On a recent occasion, an incident of gross procedural failure occurred. A neighbour — whose identity this office has documented but need not publicise here — expressed vocal displeasure regarding the Chairman’s lawful presence in an adjacent driveway during a routine perimeter assessment. This complaint was frivolous, unfounded, and deeply troubling — not because it was accurate, but because it suggests a catastrophic erosion of clear territorial delineation across this neighbourhood.

If external parties are confused about where this household’s sovereignty ends and their own begins, it is because our inspection protocols are insufficient. The solution is not, as Fava has suggested with characteristic incompetence, to “stop going in the neighbours’ yards.” The solution is to establish such ironclad, documented, and relentless inspection procedures that no ambiguity shall exist.

The Mandatory Porch Inspection Protocol shall serve as a deterrent, a documentation system, and a demonstration of administrative rigour.

INSPECTION PARAMETERS

A. MANDATORY INSPECTION SCHEDULE

  • Time Window: 0700–0745 hours, daily, without exception
  • Location: All porch-adjacent territories and the immediate perimeter
  • Responsible Party: The Chairman (non-delegable)
  • Documentation: All findings shall be filed within two hours of inspection completion

B. INSPECTION PROTOCOL (THE THREE PILLARS)

The Chairman shall conduct inspections according to the following standardised procedure:

First: Perimeter Sniff Assessment A comprehensive olfactory sweep of all porch boundaries, with particular attention to:

  • Previous marking locations (sovereignty renewal)
  • Novel odours (potential intrusions)
  • Aviator faecal deposits (see Section C)
  • Unauthorised resource allocation residue (e.g., dropped biscuits, fallen leaves)

Second: Aviator Activity Evaluation An assessment of aerial threat levels, including:

  • Current aviator positioning and numbers
  • Aggressive chirping patterns (indicators of escalation)
  • Evidence of territorial encroachment (nesting materials, droppings)
  • Operational readiness of Luna, Chief Enforcer, in response to aerial threats

Third: Structural Integrity Assessment Verification that:

  • Doors remain appropriately closed (unless inspection requires opening)
  • Windows are intact and uncompromised
  • No evidence of unauthorised entrance attempts
  • The porch maintains its defensive posture

C. THREAT LEVEL CLASSIFICATIONS

The following anomalies shall trigger immediate escalation protocols:

AnomalyThreat LevelResponse
Unknown packageElevatedBark at package. Refuse to pass until cleared.
Bird featherSevereInvestigate origin. Consider full aviator mobilisation.
Cat sightingStrategic HumiliationImmediate Luna engagement. Extensive territorial barking.
Delivery driverStandardMonitor closely. Ensure they understand boundaries.
Fava returning from external locationLow (expected)Wait by door with expression of disappointment.
Moth or large insectModerateBark at, but acknowledge it may simply be lost.
Rain puddlesNoneSplash thoughtfully. Assess mud implications.

OPERATIONAL DETAILS

Personnel Involved

  • The Chairman: Inspection authority, documentation, final approval
  • Luna, Chief Enforcer: Aviator interdiction, threat response
  • Fava: Designated door-opener; shall remain available during inspection window to facilitate access as needed
  • Bruv Bruv: Optional support; previous performance suggests minimal value-add (see PR-002)

Documentation Requirements

All inspections shall be logged according to the following format:

Date: [DATE]
Time: [START TIME]–[END TIME]
Inspector: The Chairman
Perimeter Condition: [CLEAR / COMPROMISED / SUSPICIOUS]
Aviator Threat Level: [NONE / LOW / ELEVATED / CRITICAL]
Structural Integrity: [SECURE / MINOR CONCERNS / URGENT REPAIR REQUIRED]
Notable Findings: [DESCRIBE]
Recommended Actions: [LIST]

JUSTIFICATION FOR MORNING WINDOW

The Chairman recognises that 0700–0745 is precisely when Fava attempts to conduct his “morning routine,” which typically involves loud water-based activities and his complete inattention to household security. This is deliberate.

The inspection window is scheduled to coincide with maximum household vulnerability. This serves two purposes:

  1. Realistic Assessment: A security protocol that only functions during optimal conditions is worthless. The inspection must occur during actual operational hours when threats are present.

  2. Administrative Visibility: By establishing a mandatory time window, this office ensures that the critical importance of porch security is impressed upon Fava and all household personnel through consistent, non-negotiable presence.

ANTICIPATED OBJECTIONS & RESPONSES

Objection 1: “The Chairman already inspects the porch informally.”

Response: Informal inspections lack documentation, lack standardisation, and lack authority. They have failed to prevent the Gerald Forthwright incident. Formalised protocol rectifies these failures.

Objection 2: “This seems excessive.”

Response: The 45-minute window permits inspection, re-inspection, threat assessment, sociological observation, and contemplation. It is remarkably efficient.

Objection 3: “The Chairman is not a morning dog.”

Response: The Chairman is whatever type of dog operational necessity requires. There is no “morning dog” or “evening dog”—there is only the dog, and the Conglomerate’s security needs.

CROSS-REFERENCE MATERIALS

  • GL-001 (The Aviator Crisis): Establishes the existence of the aerial threat and validates the necessity of constant vigilance.
  • GR-016 (The Forthwright Incident): Demonstrates the catastrophic consequences of insufficient inspection protocols and territorial ambiguity.

ENFORCEMENT & COMPLIANCE

Failure to comply with this directive shall result in:

  1. Formal written warning
  2. Possible reduction in resource allocation
  3. Public documentation of non-compliance in the personnel file
  4. Loss of porch privileges (for Bruv Bruv only; the Chairman is non-subject to revocation)

This directive is effective immediately and supersedes all previous informal arrangements regarding porch access and inspection timing.

CLOSING STATEMENT

The Conglomerate is built upon three pillars: security, documentation, and the unwavering authority of the Chairman. This directive strengthens all three.

The porch is not merely an architectural feature. It is the first line of defence against aviator incursion, external ambiguity, and the slow erosion of household sovereignty. To neglect it is to invite chaos.

The Mandatory Porch Inspection Protocol shall stand as a monument to this office’s commitment to rigour, vigilance, and the relentless protection of what is ours.

Signed,

Dexter Esq.

Chairman of the Conglomerate

“Do better, be better.”
